The Apostrophe

Alas, I am at quite a loss to see
How we so abuse the apostrophe.
If it is’nt misplaced,
Its often erased
Or it’s presence found when not supposed to be!

I’m thinking about buying your book. I really enjoy your work.
This is a wonderful poem, though I have one comment to make. The last line may read better as ‘Or it’s presence found where not supposed to be!’
Regrettably, I’m sure I’ve made a few grammatical errors in this comment.

Hi Jacob – I hope you do buy my book – I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I agree with you that “where” would have been better than “when”, and should I ever sell enough copies of the book, to go to a second print run, I will change it.
