Hi Jacob – I hope you do buy my book – I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I agree with you that “where” would have been better than “when”, and should I ever sell enough copies of the book, to go to a second print run, I will change it.

The most amusing one for me is ‘cutleries’ instead of cutlery. Also, my girlfriend and her mother cannot stand my ‘bogan’ habit of saying ‘youse’ in place of the plural ‘you’.

Hi Greg
I’m thinking about buying your book. I really enjoy your work.
This is a wonderful poem, though I have one comment to make. The last line may read better as ‘Or it’s presence found where not supposed to be!’
Regrettably, I’m sure I’ve made a few grammatical errors in this comment.

Hi Robert,

I knew Keith reasonably well. He was some sort of cousin of my Dad’s. My Dad was Ralph – most of the Shalless’s of that generation knew him well because he played footy for the the mighty Dees (4 senior games) and later also 17 games for the Hawks (although they were the Mayblooms then). He had brothers Alan (who died in WW2) and Geoff. Shalless Drive in Camberwell (and the associated Scout Hall) are named after Alan. Their father was Percival. Unfortunately they have all passed away now. I have heard of Harry in family discussions a long time ago, but never met him or knew anything about him really. My cousin Neal (son of Geoff) has a son named Robert.

G’Day, I’ve often wondered who you were since I saw your name in Mx.
Harry Derwent was my father and I’m fairly sure Keith Shalless was a cousin of Dad’s. He and my father could have been twins.

As long as you had fun and learnt something in the process that’s all that matters. You would of course learn a whole lot more if you bought the book, and that goes for people who think they know it all.

I only succeeded 3 out of 10, because I was a bit too alert – I thought that any word that didn’t sound right counted as an error. I mean, if they write a book about it, there must be more errors…
